4 TALES TO SAVE THE WORLD
A new piece of storytelling with music and live technology.
4 Tales to Save the World is currently being developed in collaboration with Adverse Camber production company. We're very pleased to be able to announce the four writers who will be contributing the short stories for the show:
The four stories will be set in a future Wales, where any one of the many issues facing the world today — be that climate crisis, inequality, poverty, mass extinction, identity, genetics or polarisation — has left its mark on humanity.
The below excerpt from George Orwell's classic, 1984, shows how storytelling, soundscape and music can combine to create an imaginary world, the suggestion of other senses reached through the medium of sound alone. Performed live on stage, this is a different kind of storytelling, hacked not just with computer processors, but also with microphones, digital looping, modern sound production and (perhaps) a total theatre blackout throughout parts. But storytelling none the less.
What it will sound like . . .
“. . . to make sense is to enliven the senses.”
